The blooming lotus is a potent emblem of enlightenment. Rising from the murky depths, the lotus opens to light’s touch, symbolizing the soul’s journey through human existence to purity and transcendence. Light 1 echoes this phenomena using stones of varying degrees of clarity: at its center lies an opaque Peruvian pink opal around which 736 orange sapphires unfurl aflame. Accented with a translucent pink agate, this blossoming represents a constant dawning clarity.

Designer’s note

This aspect of the collection metaphorically and aesthetically explores opacity, translucency and clarity in the soul’s journey. Peruvian pink opals, naturally coloured during formation by organic pigments, form the center stone for this aspect, alongside pink agate and orange sapphire. Pink opals – also known as “the Stone of Spiritual Awakening” – have been associated with love, hope and renewal since ancient times, whilst orange is strongly associated with spirituality in many eastern religions and cultures.
