THE ARTIST
Susana Grau Batlle
Susana’s experience has focused on humanitarian emergencies, international development and environmental portfolios.
Heritage
Susana’s story is very unusual as she is entering the jewelry industry after a 21 year career in international affairs serving in conflict, post-conflict and fragile states on a wide range of assignments. She successfully directed international development and humanitarian interventions worldwide.
Susana is a multifaceted woman and is currently serving as an international cooperation specialist covering several countries of the South America continent. She supports environmental activities that conserve biodiversity, combat deforestation and improve natural resource management. Her last field assignment before creating her own brand, was in the Sahel Region, providing response to the humanitarian crisis arising from the conflict.
Designing jewelry through ethical practices has been Susana’s passion that she has combined throughout these years. Living and working in many different countries has shaped her cultural understanding and knowledge about mining, gems, art, livelihoods, beauty, people's taste, and ultimately human relations. Hence those life experiences played a big part of who she is today as a person and as a jewelry designer.
As a result, the soul of her brand is deeply anchored on the aim of ethical practices.
Susana is currently enrolled at the Gemological Institute of America and is honored to be one of the recipients of the William Goldberg Scholarship. Susana launched her brand and her first one-of-kind collection in 2021.

VISION & VALUES
The beauty of what matters.
A world where satisfying exclusive tastes also means an exceptional relationship with the planet and its people.
Change the way high-end jewelry and luxury is conceptualized and consumed. Demystify the idea of sacrificing beauty and quality over appropriateness and ethical practices.
Creativity, beauty and compassion as essential engines of progress.
SUSTAINABILITY
Of the earth. For the earth.
Susana Grau Batlle (™) is a high-end jewelry brand, focused on the art of handmade jewelry, seeking the balance between the energy of precious stones, their design, shape and materiality; from a perspective of color and harmony, in order to create true works of art.
Its entire process aims to be as ethical as possible, from the extraction of the raw material to the packaging and shipment.
We are not only mindful of the ethical sources of the metals and precious gems but also on giving back to the planet with measured impact. We believe healthy economies rely on a healthy environment and it’s an integral part to have a circular economy across sectors and industries for the future of healthy societies, economies and ultimately the planet we all share.
For this reason we are creating an EARTH FUND where a percentage of our sales will go to different organizations that protect the planet and its people.

THE BRAND
Our manifesto
"We do not want to make jewelry. We want to make something that changes the world and changes the way people see the world. We want to make a profound, real difference.
We want to make beautiful things that have beautiful stories behind them. We want to make something that benefits the world and makes people fall in love with who they are.
We want to signal the end of one era, and the start of another era. An era of feminine energy that will permeate the world and celebrate healing and beauty. Beauty through healing. And healing through beauty.
We do not want to make jewelry. We want to create a mark of consciousness in an unconscious world, a sign of awakening to the present moment and all the moments that could unfold from this one.
We do not want to make jewelry. We want to celebrate those who know who they are, who celebrate themselves through self-expression, who believe in art as life and life as art.
Who live lives larger than themselves, not by taking advantage of the world, but by working with it, by discovering its potential, its flow, its way. We make what we make, for these people, to acknowledge their connection as a symbol of understanding something profoundly greater than all of us.
We do not want to make jewelry. We want to light a dying light with our actions, our thoughts and our intentions. We want to make a connection between the people who wear our creations and the Earth itself. Because we believe there is a way to make beautiful things, beautifully, that lifts people onto a higher level.
We do not want to make jewelry. We want to change the way jewelry is made, through creativity and boldness. We want to change your heart. We want to change what it means, to be truly and utterly, beautiful."
