Mindful compassion
Being aware of your place in space and time, and understanding the creative force that binds us all, when framed with love, is mindful compassion. Such compassion is key to maintaining grace throughout the creative process. Susana Grau Batlle aims to transmit grace through its pieces via a conscious regard for ethics.

Creativity
We craft for those who chart their journey with self-expression, who believe in life as art and art as life, leading lives larger than themselves. We make what we make, for these people, to acknowledge the creative force that binds us, and as a symbol of understanding something profoundly greater than us all.

RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Responsibility and sustainability are important to us. This is because we recognize our place in the tapestry of life. It is because we revere this Earth, the souls that inhabit it, and the creative beauty that binds us.

Our sustainability journey
Susana Grau Batlle is at the start of its sustainability journey – a voyage that will be continuous and develop as we do.

Step one of that pathway is our commitment to transparency: we commit to being open and honest with buyers about sourcing.

To the extent possible, our suppliers have been American Gem Trade Association members, and ateliers with Responsible Jewellery Council certification or who are in the process of securing certification. Where this has not been possible, we have discussed responsible sourcing with suppliers and sought assurances.

This is simply our starting point.

We know that reliance on industry schemes alone cannot account for the risks inherent in the complexity of modern supply chains. As such, we are currently exploring how we can push our ethics strategy further going forward.

In addition, a percentage of our sales is diverted to help generate positive contributions more broadly. Through our Earth Fund, we aim to donate to impactful initiatives that help to protect the planet and support empowerment. Our first contribution has been to the East Africa-based Moyo Gems project — a responsible gemstone initiative that supports women miners to work safely, improve their financial security, and access new and consistent market opportunities on fair trade terms.

OUR MANIFESTO

We do not want to make jewelry. We want to make something that changes the world and changes the way people see the world.

We want to make beautiful things imbued with beautiful stories. We want to make something that benefits the world and makes people fall in love with who they are.

We want to signal the end of one era, and the start of another: a new era, of feminine energy that will permeate the world and celebrate healing and beauty. Beauty through healing. And healing through beauty.

We do not want to make jewelry. We want to create a mark of consciousness in an unconscious world, a sign of awakening to the present moment and all the moments that could unfold from this one.

We want to light a dying light with our actions, our thoughts and intentions. We want to make a connection between those who wear our creations and the Earth itself. We believe there is a way to make beautiful things, beautifully.
